Accessibility statement
Our lab studies how people who are blind, deaf or hard of hearing perceive the world. We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or captions.
Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA and Israeli Standard IS 5568, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 2013.
What we have done
- A clear heading structure on every page, and a menu that reaches every section.
- Every function works with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text alternatives for images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Captions are switched on for embedded YouTube videos; transcripts are linked where available.
- Filter results in the publications list are announced to screen readers.
- Moving content stops for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
- Hebrew pages are marked as Hebrew and laid out right to left.
How it was tested
Every page, in English and Hebrew, is checked automatically with axe-core on every change, and the build fails on serious or critical issues. Keyboard navigation has been checked by hand. Step-by-step screen-reader checks with NVDA and VoiceOver are documented for the team to run.
Known limitations
- Transcripts are not yet available for some videos and podcasts; these are marked “Transcript coming soon”.
- Embedded content from other services (YouTube, Spotify and social media) is not under our control.
